Why choose ELEC

Key Advantages for International Students

ELEC combines a prime KL location, a wide range of English levels, and a rare advantage: the ability to issue student visas directly — making enrolment and immigration simpler than most language centres in Malaysia.

Student Visa Issued Directly by ELEC

One of ELEC's most significant advantages — all international students enrolling in the Intensive English Programme receive a 6-month or 1-year student visa issued directly by ELEC Language Center. This removes the complexity of dealing with a separate immigration agent and makes the visa process straightforward and reliable.

10 English Levels — Basic to Advanced

ELEC offers 10 educational levels of English — one of the widest level ranges of any language centre in KL. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine advanced academic and professional English, ELEC has a class that precisely matches your level and learning objectives.

4 Minutes from Petronas Twin Towers

Located at Block B, Megan Avenue II, No 12 Jalan Yap Kwan Seng — the same prestigious building complex as Erican Language Centre — ELEC is strategically positioned in central KL. Students have easy access to LRT/MRT, halal food, KLCC Park, and all of KL's international student community.

Small Class Sizes — Max 15 Students

The Intensive English Programme limits class sizes to a maximum of 15 students with an average of 12. This ensures personalised attention from teachers for every student — a significant advantage over larger language school programmes where individual progress can be overlooked.

English + Mandarin + Malay

Beyond English, ELEC offers Mandarin (3 stages with multimedia CD-ROM: Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced) and Malay — making it unique among KL language centres. Students who want to learn a second language during their stay in Malaysia can do so under one roof.

Luxury Student Accommodation Options

ELEC partners with two premium accommodation options: Suria Jelatek Residence (luxury condo with a 33m infinity sky pool facing KLCC skyline) and Angkasa Impian 2 (29-storey condo in Bukit Bintang with gym, pool, and tennis court). Both are significantly above the standard of typical student housing.

Frequently asked questions

Common Questions About Studying at ELEC

What is the minimum English level needed to start at ELEC?+
ELEC's Intensive English Programme starts from Elementary level. Students with zero or near-zero English (pre-beginners) and students under 17 are recommended to enrol in the Individual English Programme (1-on-1) instead, which can accommodate any starting level including those who haven't yet learned the English alphabet. All students sit a placement test on Day 1 to determine the correct level.
How does ELEC's student visa process work?+
ELEC is one of the few language centres in KL that issues student visas directly — without needing to go through EMGS or a third-party immigration agent. International students enrolling in the Intensive English Programme receive either a 6-month or 1-year student visa issued by ELEC Language Center itself. This makes the visa process faster and more straightforward than at most language schools. We will confirm the current processing time and cost when you enquire through us.

ELEC's required registration documents are: (1) passport photo with white background, (2) full PDF copy of all passport pages with a minimum of 18 months validity, (3) high school certificate, and (4) age between 18 and 44 years. We will send you a complete checklist and review your documents before submission to ensure everything is in order.

Both are significantly above typical student housing. We can assist in booking accommodation as part of our free enrolment support service.
Can I study Mandarin or Malay at ELEC alongside English?+
Yes — ELEC is unique among KL language centres in offering Mandarin and Malay alongside English. Mandarin is taught across 3 stages (Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced) using a course book, workbook, and multimedia CD-ROM. Malay is taught in a practical, conversational approach — conversational ability can be achieved in around 100 hours. Ask us about scheduling both English and a second language simultaneously.
Can I study at ELEC and then apply to a Malaysian university?+
Yes — this is the recommended pathway for Arab students who need to build their English before university entry. Study the IEP at ELEC to reach Upper Intermediate or Advanced level, take IELTS preparation, achieve your target score, then apply to your chosen Malaysian university through us. We handle the full university application and EMGS student visa process for the degree programme. The ELEC → University pathway is practical, affordable, and well-supported by our team.
